Texas State Optical has been a fixture in Bryan since 1954. Dr. Erwin Luedemann operated TSO in downtown Bryan until 1984 when Dr. Phillips assumed ownership. We left downtown Bryan in 1995 and moved to East 29th St. near the St. Joseph Regional Health Center complex.
During that time Bryan and College Station have seen huge changes, and TSO has changed along with it. At TSO we combine the latest technology and years of experience to give you thorough eye examinations and fashionable, affordable eyewear. We utilize state -of- the -art Optomap retinal imaging, autorefraction/keratometry, and computerized non-contact tonometry and visual fields testing as well as the i-Point VTO System. Dr. Phillips and his staff of eye care professionals are ready and willing to help you see and look your best.
Texas State Optical has been taking care of the eyes of Texas since 1936. We are proud to be part of the TSO family of independent Optometrists which is built on a foundation of patient focused care and quality products that stand the test of time. Our Doctors of Optometry and experienced Opticians continue to support these core values that have remained unchanged throughout the years.
We have enjoyed building relationships with many of our patients and many times, entire families choose TSO for all their vision needs. There’s no greater satisfaction for an eye doctor than to provide vision care for a grandmother, son and granddaughter from the same family.

Our office hours are M-W 8:30- 5:00, Thurs. 8:30-6:00, and Fri 8:30 -3:00.
